It might be stuck in beginner mode without it though. I think you just need to save the non beginner fence settings once.
There is an SD card slot in the back of the camera ball to collect pictures and videos without the app.

I went through the same frustration, try the procedure the oriental gal is instructing, after a few times mine worked. The app is not required, I thought that as well you just will not have FPV or follow me. The shadow is a Syma X8 and the motors are the same. It will fly in GPS mode or Att mode right out of the box with no app. Hope you get them going.

I tried a few more times last night and gave up. I took it back to my local WalMart today to exchange it. They didn't have anymore in stock so I took a gift card. I had to take my car for service in the next town over, so afterwards I stopped in their WalMart and bought another one. This time I went ahead and splurged on the 3 yr warranty after I confirmed that if the drone didn't work out of the box that I would be refunded for that also (because this was the last Promark I was going to try!).
When I got home, I plugged the controller and battery in for charging. After an hour or so, I couldn't stand it - I had to see if I got another dud. I put the battery in, turned the drone on, then the controller - moved the left stick up and down - IT SYNCED! After a few tries, I got the calibration done and took off! Man, this thing flies MUCH better than the Warrior did! I was able to get some video of above the house and shop. I'm guessing this thing is pretty much idiot proof since I flew it, hovered, took pics and video and landed - WITHOUT hitting anything or crashing on the first flight.

So far I am impressed with the drone and relieved I finally got one that works. After it warms up some (next week), maybe I can get out and learn to fly it! Thanks for the help Rich!

Good deal! I just got these drones because they were relatively cheap for what you get, GPS, ATT hold and headless, I'm not crazy about using the app (I don't have an I phone). I wish they had a 5.8 monitor to hook to the transmitter to do FPV with. I can live with the brushed motors and just keep an eye on them for when they get tired, new motors are only about $2.00. I like doing video up high almost out of sight, and watching the thing return to home. Watch the youtube vid on the controller functions, there is a lot of good info like controlling the speed, trimming etc.Promark GPS Shadow Drone - Page 5 (1)

By deciphering the very vague instructions provided by Promark (printed AND video), am I correct in guessing that the flashing red lights mean that the drone is waiting to sync with the controller?

BTW, I tried using the online contact support form last week with my Warrior drone - never got a response. Today I actually called - never talked with anyone. Left a message and haven't received a callback. Doubting I will. I have heard that Promark tech support is non existent.

Try spinning it a few times in each orientation as well, I think I spin mine a few times in both directions. The back lights will flash pink and the front solid white, then press and hold the headless button, and the back will turn blinking blue when you are in ATT mode , then hit the take-off button. If that don't work probably have to return it. Remarkably, they have pretty good reviews on YT.

Glad to hear the app is not required and one button takeoff may not work due to beginner settings

Has any connected the Promark GPS Shadow Drone to a Google Pixel2?

I am having difficulty but have not dug too far on the problem yet

Update on my ProMark Shadow drone - I finally bit the bullet and returned it to the store and exchanged it for a new one. The store was just a stone's throw away from my local flying field so I headed right over there for a quick test flight of the NEW drone.

Right out of the box - no problems. Calibrated just fine, ready to fly, so I did a quick flight. Unfortunately, the drone battery was not fulled charged so I only got about five minutes flying time - enough to shoot a quick video. Drone automatically returned and landed once the battery got too low.

There wasn't enough daylight to charge it up for another flight and unfortunately my work schedule this weekend leaves me no time for flying, so I won't be able to give this drone a proper shakedown until next weekend, but so far the results are encouraging.

Does your phone find your quad's wifi signal? Mine won't connect unless I make the phone Forget the quad and then when it pops back up, click on it. Then my phone will prompt me with the question "no internet available, connect anyway?" or something to that effect. When I connect the camera will then work.

I have a couple videos that did not convert in the app. so i need to convert .H264 to .avi or .mp4 ??? Android would be great but windows will work too. https://www.file-extensions.org/h264-file-extension says Quick time is the program to use but Quick time says it can not open file it does not understand. So i'm lost was wondering if anyone has had some experience with this. I can watch the video in the app. but it did not convert to .avi to watch outside of the app.Promark GPS Shadow Drone - Page 5 (2)

Has anyone tried flying the shadow drone along side another shadow drone? I have a friend that has one too and we tried to fly them at the same time, but his controller took over my drone ! He was actually flying two drones at the same time! Lol!! Needless to say, we had to shut down that REAL quick.

So I have this drone and it was working great for a while.. (second one, first one was a dud). Anyway, the right stick on the controller no longer does anything when you push left/right on it. Also the drone won't hover in place, instead it flies to the right slightly and can't be stopped since pushing left does nothing. It can't be calibrated since that requires pushing diagonally and..that doesn't work. I would just return it (can't exchange, they sold out at Christmas), but I modified it to fit a GoPro instead of the stock camera.

So...thought about swapping out the receiver and using my Spektrum DX6i. There's just no info on the internals. I opened it up and what I think is the receiver has a 6 pin connector, but only uses 4 wires. Anyone tried changing the receiver out? Not even sure 6 channels is enough since you'd need 4 for the sticks and there are a bunch of extra features. Probably just need the takeoff/landing and return home buttons. So any idea if it's possible? Haven't ordered a receiver yet, was considering picking up a Taranis QX7 and receiver in case I need more channels.

promark custumer service is non exsistant in my experiance, I emailed them several times, its been almost 2 months and no response. I bought 3 batteries off of amazon, labled for the holy stone hs100, same excact batteries ( same drone too) other than it does not say promark on them, but they work just as well as the original. I have flown it at least a dozen times, the weather and my schedule havent cooperated, and everything has worked great but I have had the remote lose connection quite a bit, could be interferance, but the video has never cut out. luckily the return home function works well. the farthest ive taken it is about 80 meters high and out about 40. I am going to put a better antenna on soon and see what that does.

When mine was working I had no issues with the connection cutting out. I flew it to the max height it would go and according to the app over 300 feet away and it was still going strong. The video cuts out much sooner than the controls. When the video would cut out, I just reversed the direction I was going. It would keep recording if you have an sd card in the camera, but you'd have to back out and re-enter the app to get the video stream back after moving back in range.

It did lose connection for like a second or two occasionally last time I flew, but it was fairly cold and I think the battery was dipping low on voltage because of that.

I bought a aluminum hard case for the DJI Phatom 3 on Amazon for $65 that works perfectly for the Shadow Drone. I assume any case for a Phantom 3 would work.
